In December 2025 I had the honor of participating in an end-of-year art show at CRASH Space, the Los Angeles Hackerspace.
My contribution was this piece - dancing worms on a string w/ LED lights. I wanted to do something with MIDI - so both the lights and servos are sequenced by MIDI messages.
It’s powered by a raspberry pi and a MIDI keyboard. The music is coming from a timidity server on the pi itself. However, it can be sequenced by hooking it up to any MIDI hub, and having other MIDI instruments play the actual music.
I had originally planned to use this in a live music show, but the earlier prototype failed. It looked kinda cool frozen though.
